CCS Monthly Meeting

A Review of the Cherokee Nation Annual Holiday, among other activities. Stay tuned for updates!

Time: 7:00 p.m.

Location: Tracy Gee Community Center, 3599 Westcenter, one block south of Richmond Avenue, east of the Sam Houston Tollway West Belt.

Meeting is open to all interested persons. No admission fee.

CCS Summer Activities

Family oriented fun is ahead as we invite singles and families to join us in the following activities. Most are alcohol free and meant for wholesome good times. See you there!

Annual Medicine Wheel Ceremony, at the home of Steve Triplett in Santa Fe, TX.

Saturday, July 14:
A trip to the George Observatory, Brazos State Park.
3:00 p.m. Picnic starts the adventure.
5:00 p.m. Purchase tickets to visit the Giant Telescope.
Directions:
From Houston follow Highway 59 south towards Victoria, TX.
Exit Crabb River Road.
Turn left on Crabb River Road and follow the long road.
See brown and white State Park signs to Brazos State Park.
Drive straight into picnic grounds and look for our yellow and blue Cherokee Cultural Society sign.

Saturday, August 4, 2001, 5:45 p.m.:
Ghost Tour - A hauntingly fun trip around seven of Houston's ghostly sites, with a food stop along the way! Bus leaves PROMPTLY at 6:30: please be there no later than 6:00. Meet at Allen Park Inn, 2121 Allen Parkway, Houston (713-521-9321). DON'T GET LEFT BEHIND - BE ON TIME.
Tour lasts 3-3 1/2 hours. One stop is at a haunted restaurant where we will receive complimentary snacks and a drink. Bring cameras with 400 or 800 speed film to catch the spirits. Payment must be secured in advance by credit card to hold your seat, although participants need not pay by credit card.
