CCS Monthly Meeting


The Next Monthly Meeting of the Cherokee Cultural Society Features "An 18th Century Woodland Native Clothing Display" Clabert Menard returns to offer details on what all those ancestors were wearing and to provide inspiration for recreating these togs!

Thursday, February 1, 2001
7:00 p.m. at the Tracy Gee Community Center
3599 Westcenter, one block south of Richmond Avenue, east of the Sam Houston Tollway West Belt.

Meeting is open to all interested - no admission fee.


Red Nations Remembering


Mark your calendar for Sunday, March 25!
Bear Creek Park will be the site for our annual Red Nations Remembering Family Picnic Look forward to all day festivities for members and visitors in Pavilion #6, which holds up to 200 persons. Join us for great fun with Cherokee games and other activities to excite all ages. Bring enough munchies for your family, plus some to share. CCS will provide soft drinks. Expect all the facilities - plenty of lights, restrooms, pay phones and a nearby playground. Watch the Cherokee Messenger for maps and further details as they unfold!
